War by America
This brutal consequence of inhumanity bred by consolidated American wealth-and-power can be prevented by We the PeopleHow? Apply wisdom of humankind, wisdom in our Constitution, and modern corporate wisdom to prevent buildup of adult immaturity and its devastating inhumanity that drive brutal acquisitive war.
by Dan Ruuska (v.02.08.05)
Those in America who lack mankind's core wisdom-and-humanity skills -- immature adults -- tend to rise to the top, take and hoard wealth-and-power, inflict harm on others, and influence the rest of America to approve and follow those examples they set. Especially scary is when berserk inhumanity of American leadership hurts people abroad, who then retaliate against America. Tens of millennia ago our human forebears knew and feared such immaturity and its dangers, and over the ages developed wisdom to prevent it: Wisdom of our forebears. The Framers of our Constitution knew and feared all this also, and wove the same ancient wisdom into our Constitution: Wisdom of the Framers. To help prevent aggressive war by America, Inc. -- a worthy goal -- follow the lead of humankind's past and thoroughly teach all this in our public schools as part of Element 2 in the doable sensible plan to fix America.
To weed out immature-adult politicians who might violate their oath office and break law and inflict harm on America and the world, We the People as our nation's largest employer -- we employ a President, Congress, Supreme Court, and all other federal workers -- should follow the lead of big corporations: test to make sure applicants have the capacity and inclination to do the job. Psychological-test and aptitude-test candidates, especially all Presidential and Congressional and Supreme-Court candidates, to make sure they have the core human development and the core civic knowledge needed to deeply understand and sincerely want to carry out our Constitution. A simple fitness test for America's public servants would be a prudent first-line-of-defense against the formation of a Homeland Enemy, and would prevent unnecessary suffering and death of millions of people in America and worldwide.
Since the end of the Korean War, America's wealth and power -- our immature-adult cream at the top -- has been responsible for more economic destruction, more social destruction, more physical destruction, more larceny, and more death worldwide than all tyrants and terrorists worldwide and all robbers and murderers in America combined. In doing that to the world, they sowed seeds of anger against the United States. Part of the blowback -- 9/11 with 3000 deaths -- was nothing compared to the millions of deaths that America's rampaging wealth and power has been responsible for in the last half-century.
Review the thousands of deaths they caused in Central and South America -- CLICK HERE and HERE -- terror and death still being committed today by proxy military forces that receive training and financial aid from the USA.
Below a short list of how America's wealth and power has directly mass-murdered civilians of other nations, and looted their national resources and assets, by using America's military as their mercenary force. In the past half-century, they ordered military campaigns against several nations that posed no threat whatsoever to America. Listed below is what our military -- our commanders-in-chief, our officers, our troops -- did to those nations, and to their citizens, in service of America's wealth and power.
As you read below, keep in mind how deeply adult immaturity -- and its penchant for war-making -- have seeped into our culture. Even into our patriotism: how we Wave the Flag with American Pride for brutal war on weak nations that pose no threat to America. How it breeds us to be uncaring and even remorseless. How more and more we tolerate, and even adulate, aggressive and inhumane behavior. How we accept terribly lawless behavior by the rich and powerful ("might is right"), but not far lesser offenses by the poor and powerless whom we fill our privatized prisons with. How America's entertainment, religions, vehicles, and clothing exude war. How, unless we come to our senses soon, we'll continue to participate in the escalating War on The General Welfare that's presently killing us off at the rate of at least 50,000 a year.
Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia 1956-75: The Tonkin Gulf Incident, a lie, launched the war: 30-Year Anniversary: Tonkin Gulf Lie Launched Vietnam War (Media Beat, July-24-1994).
Our military killed millions of civilians, poisoned their land with defoliants, and scattered unexploded ordnance that continues to maim and kill today.
Reverend Billy Graham proposed that we bomb river dikes in Vietnam to cause massive flooding that would kill a million more civilians: When Billy Graham Planned to Kill One Million People.
Ho Chi Minh, educated in Paris, had pleaded with the US government to allow Vietnam to become a democracy. But the US, fearing that Vietnam would not vote for what the US government preferred, would have none of it. Think of Vietnam as a rerun of Guatemala and Chile -- where America orchestrated violent overthrows of two democratic governments because citizens voted against America's wishes, resulting in the slaughter of thousands of civilians -- but this time we did all the mass killing with our very own hands to prevent a democracy from forming: a democracy that would have chosen humanistic socialism as their economic system, like Guatemala and Chile did, instead of predatory rigged capitalism.
Laos and Cambodia were collateral damage. Laos is the most heavily bombed nation on Earth, ever. After the war ended in 1975, the US supported the Khmer Rouge responsible for the grisly "Killing Fields" in Cambodia.

Panama 1989-90: Our troops killed thousands of civilians, and bulldozed many into mass graves. They murdered independent journalists. See the documentary "Panama Deception" that PBS was pressured not to air.
Iraq 1990-91: "The US, alarmed at the development of Iraq and its growing prestige among other Arab nations, used Kuwait to undermine Iraq economically beginning in the mid-1980s, even as the US was continuing to encourage the perpetuation of the Iran-Iraq War. Kuwaitis not only illegally annexed 900 square miles of prime Iraqi oil land, they hooked up with the Santa Fe Drilling Company, who specialized in "slant drilling," running drills across the Iraqi border to pump billions of dollars of Iraqi oil, as they dumped cheap oil onto the market – with encouragement from the CIA – to cut the Iraqis' development revenues:" Time Line: Path to Pandemonium. It was part of the US-designed provocation to incite Iraq to invade Kuwait. But our news media did not report any of this truth.
The story about Iraqi soldiers taking Kuwaiti babies out of incubators and leaving them on the floor to die was a complete hoax. But our news media reported that hoax as truth.
The incubator hoax was designed to fire up America to war on Iraq. It worked.
We massively bombed and destroyed the civilian infrastructure of Iraq. Our troops bombed Iraqi homes, hospitals, schools, power stations, water supplies, sewage-treatment plants, roads, bridges, airports, dikes, irrigation systems. Our troops incendiary-bombed and burned Iraqi crops.
In Iraq our military killed thousands of civilians outright, and we caused an estimated 1.5-million civilian deaths in the 12 years afterward: Time Line: Path to Pandemonium.
"380 Iraqi soldiers who had surrendered to US forces were given food by one US Army unit that then left, whereupon another Army mechanized platoon appeared on the scene and machine-gunned the unarmed and clearly marked POWs to death." "The Army's 24th Mechanized Infantry Division, commanded by General Barry McCaffrey, who would later go on to become Bill Clinton's "drug tsar," violated a declared cease fire and moved his division forward of the cease fire line south of Basra. 400 Iraqi supply trucks and 187 Iraqi tanks – with guns locked to the rear and therefore not prepared to fire – were in the process of retreating north in accordance with the agreement that accompanied the cease fire. Many of the Iraqi soldiers in this retreating column had family members and other civilians accompanying them on this northward retreat. They thought they were protected by the Law of Land Warfare, which prohibits attacking a retreating column during a declared cease fire. They were wrong. McCaffrey ordered a full scale attack on the column that employed ground and air forces. In what was later referred to by participants as a "turkey shoot," the Iraqis were annihilated. Among the thousands of Iraqis killed was a school bus full of children accompanying the column. . . . 5,000 Iraqis (a conservative estimate) were killed at McCaffrey's "turkey shoot."" Time Line: Path to Pandemonium, Remember the 1991 Gulf War: US Massacre of Withdrawing Soldiers on "The Highway of Death".
During Desert Storm, 1990-1991, our troops spewed radioactive debris from hundreds of tons of uranium weapons, bombs and projectiles, radioactivity that will cause Iraqi birth defects for generations: Death By Slow Burn.
In the years between the two Iraq wars, our troops kept up the bombing including of airports and civilians.
Yugoslavia 1999: USA-led NATO bombing killed thousands of civilians, destroyed homes and infrastructure, and caused long-term pollution of land and water including from many tons of radioactive uranium bomb and projectile debris: Long-term environmental damage due to NATO bombing in Yugoslavia, NATO Willfully Triggered an Environmental Catastrophe In Yugoslavia, Death By Slow Burn.
During the 1990s the Pentagon allied with Islamic elements from Afghanistan and the Middle East, and imported them into Bosnia and used them as weapons: How the Pentagon trained Al Qaeda in Bosnia. A 1997 document from Congress reveals how the Clinton administration -- under advice from the National Security Council -- had "helped turn Bosnia into a militant Islamic base" leading to the recruitment through the so-called "Militant Islamic Network" of thousands of mujahideen from the Muslim world: Clinton Administration supported the "Militant Islamic Base".
The mass-media-hyped humanitarian reason for the intense NATO bombing -- to stop ethnic cleansing, to stop genocide -- proved to be a fraud. After the bombing, no evidence of genocide was found. No evidence of genocide. We bombed the wrong side? NATO War Crimes and links to Al Qaeda confirmed by former UN Commander in Balkans.
What did happen after the bombing? This. American and European corporations took over the vast mineral wealth of the area, and the US military established a powerful presence in the Balkans. The 1999 NATO bombing was a grand-finale resource-and-control grab in Yugoslavia, as spelled out in the PNAC document published a year later. The grab began with US plans to "globalize" and "privatize" the Yugoslavian Federation after the Berlin Wall fell in 1989. Including to deliberately ignite and fuel ethnic hatred -- our US government provided money, arms, and advisors to do exactly that -- in order to hasten transfer of public ownership of a nation's resources to private ownership by corporate outsiders which is the well-hidden goal of the World Bank and IMF based in the USA: Mercenary Outfit on Contract to the Pentagon behind 1995 Ethnic Massacres in the Krajina region of Croatia, Dismantling Former Yugoslavia, Secret War: US and EU Intervention in Yugoslavia, How the spoils were distributed, Balkans Crisis supports US Corporate Interests, NATO's War of Aggression against Yugoslavia, The Yugoslavian Fairy Tale, Clinton, Kerry and Kosovo: The Lie of a "Good War".

Our troops killed 3,000 to 3,400 civilians (Afghanistan civilian deaths) and littered the ground with unexploded cluster bombs. Our troops destroyed roads, bridges, power plants, schools, hospitals, mosques, agriculture.
Our troops poisoned Afghanistan's land and underground water with uranium, and urine samples of Afghanis show the highest level of uranium ever recorded in a civilian population: Death By Slow Burn, The Silent Genocide from America, Perpetual Death From America.

We want a US-puppet government, not a genuine democracy: Afghanistan's loya jirga convened to rubber-stamp an anti-democratic constitution, Afghan Talks Adjourn, Deeply Divided on Ethnic Lines. Loya jirga rubber-stamps autocratic US-puppet regime, with no prospect that even the semblance of a democracy will emerge: US-imposed 'democracy' in Afghanistan.
In March-2004: US forces accused of looting, torture and death in Afghanistan, American troops are killing and abusing Afghans, rights body says, Tokyo War Crimes indictment against George W. Bush; International Criminal Tribunal for Afghanistan.
As in Iraq, America runs an Afghanistan gulag, too: Afghan detainees routinely tortured and humiliated by US troops, 'They said this is America . . . if a soldier orders you to take off your clothes, you must obey'.
The Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) pipeline, also known as the Trans Afghan Pipeline, is proceeding as planned before 9/11. In the 1990s, the US had hoped that a Taliban regime in Afghanistan would stabilize the country and thereby facilitate the TAP to India through Pakistan. American energy firms had even opened offices in Delhi in the 1990s in anticipation of the TAP's huge downstream business potential. In mid 2001, the Taliban refused US demands. Soon after the Taliban's ouster during the war on Afghanistan, the US signaled that once Hamid Karzai's interim regime managed to bring about some stability the TAP would be revived. In 2002 Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan signed a deal for a pipeline that will start from the Daulatabad gas field in Turkmenistan and run nearly 1,000 miles, through Afghanistan and into Pakistan. This $2 billion project would bring Central Asian natural gas to a Pakistani port for export. The four biggest corporate investors in this project are ChevronTexaco, Exxon Mobil, BP, and Halliburton. In September 2004, the US Trade Development Agency signed an agreement with the Gas Authority of India for its partial funding (US$700,000) of a feasibility study for a natural-gas grid in India, a sign that the White House wants US companies to be involved in India's multi-billion dollar market for TAP natural gas. The Asian Development Bank, which undertook a feasibility study of TAP, in 2004 confirmed that paperwork on the project was complete and that gas supplies could reach Pakistan by 2010. The project will proceed when Karzai is elected president of Afghanistan. The New Great Game: The 'War on Terror' is Being Used as an Excuse to Further US Energy Interests in the Caspian, Central Asia gas deal underscores the real reasons for the Afghan war, India, Pakistan and the 'peace' pipeline, $1 million approved for Turkmen gas pipeline study.
November 2004. The elections were not legitimate. They were rushed by the Bush Administration. All parties used intimidation and vote fraud. Some provinces had 140 percent voter registration. Many people voted several times. Karzai doesn't have much real authority, he's trapped in his palace, and practically every time he leaves there's an assassination attempt. The US and the international community have authority -- Karzai is their representative and is just a figurehead. Warlords have been folded into the Karzai government and are getting a new type of legitimacy and institutional power. They control the drug trade. Sub-commanders steal common lands from people to grow drugs, they operate a sort of gangster operation. President Bush's plan, in effect, is for Afghanistan to be a narco-mafia state, a mafia with a seat in the UN and a few military bases on the Iranian and Pakistani border. Iraq 2003-present: Iraq did not harm America. Iraq was not a military threat or terrorism threat to America. All the official reasons for the war were utterly false. Yet we bombed, invaded, occupy, control, and plunder Iraq anyway.
Plans for the war began in 1992. Intent of the war? Spelled out in the post-war plans made long before the war. A War-on-Iraq chain of events.
Just like the 1990-91 Iraq war, our troops destroyed considerable civilian infrastructure. They bulldozed ancient groves of date palms and orange and lemon trees, causing farming families to lose their livelihoods: US soldiers bulldoze farmers' crops, Orchards and American Integrity.
The collateral damage. Including by cluster-bombing neighborhoods and children (Cluster bombs liberate Iraqi children), by opening fire on unarmed civilians, by acting on orders to fire at Iraqi ambulances, by shooting at Iraqi medical crews which came to retrieve civilian dead and wounded. Our troops gunned down Iraqi soldiers as they waved white flags of surrender: Wolves & Sheep. Our troops crushed an Iraqi cleric with a tank: More violence targeted against US occupiers of Iraq, Iraq through the American looking glass.
October 2004. Researchers from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Columbia University School of Nursing, and Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad estimate that America has directly and indirectly killed 100,000 Iraqi civilians including women and children and elderly mostly from air strikes and artillery including cluster-bombing: Study puts civilian toll in Iraq at over 100,000, Iraqi Civilian Deaths Increase Dramatically After Invasion, 'War raised Iraqi death rate by 100,000', 100,000 Iraqi civilians dead, says study, The Lancet and the bodies in question, 100,000 War Crimes.
The US suppresses information about collateral damage: Pentagon suppresses details of civilian casualties. And kills those who dare count the dead: You asked for my evidence, Mr Ambassador. Here it is.
July 2004. An Iraqi group within the country said more than 37,000 Iraqi civilians were killed between the start of the US-led invasion in March 2003 and October 2003: Iraqi group claims over 37,000 civilian toll, Survey claims 37,000 Iraqi civilians killed in first seven months of war.
The Iraq Body Count is based on only civilian deaths reported in the media. Many of Iraq's civilian deaths are not reported in the media. As of November 2004, their count is about 16,000 thousand Iraqi civilians: Iraq Body Count.
"The American non-governmental organization Iraq Body Count, in a partial investigation that has not covered the whole country, has stated that there have been more than 10,000 civilian deaths in the Iraq war [Feb-2004]. As the number of seriously wounded in such wars is usually four times bigger than the number of fatal casualties, there may be 40,000 injured civilians. Russian observers estimate Iraqi military losses at 30,000 deaths and 120,000 seriously wounded. This means that many Iraqis now know that in the name of their "liberation", the Americans have killed or maimed 200,000 people. When something like this happens, you don't need any help from al-Qaeda to fuel your anger." IRAQ AND AL-QAEDA, Part 1 - The usual suspects Feb-2004.

The plundering is proceeding as was planned long before the war (REFERENCES). Oil sabotage by Iraqis, which are attempts to prevent their oil from being stolen by America, is not a serious problem. Because the longer and nastier the military occupation, the greater the corporate profiteering that sucks wealth out of Iraq and out of American taxpayers. Pre-war plans for plunder and profit.
In February-2003 the White House issued the report "Moving the Iraqi Economy from Recovery to Sustainable Growth," in the works from the first days of the Bush administration, outlining plans for the mass privatization of virtually every Iraqi government asset. It is a plan to sell off the oil fields, pipelines, and oil infrastructure of Iraq to private business, to take over the banking sector, and to turn what is left of Iraq into a free-market asset-looting paradise -- similar to how the World Bank, IMF, multinational corporations, and major powers harmed the Federation of Yugoslavia, Argentina, Bolivia, and many other countries since World War 2. It also contains plans to rewrite Iraq's laws including copyright laws, business-regulation laws, tax codes, and to write Iraq's application to join the World Trade Organization. Privatising, More references.
On March-20-2003, the day the shock-and-awe bombing began, our President issued Executive Order 13290: Confiscating and Vesting Certain Iraqi Property (Executive Order 13290 of March 20, 2003). It authorizes the US to take Iraqi bank and national financial assets, including assets of the oil ministry, "in the interest of and for the benefit of the United States."

After a campaign of mob-like extortion against other nations similar to the pre-war bullying that included a "dirty tricks" operation that spied on UN Security Council members by bugging their offices and residences, the UN caved in to America's demands on May-22-2003 and issued UN Resolution 1483 which gives total control of Iraq's affairs and assets, including oil, to the US: UN Resolution 1483 (May-22-2003), UN legal fig leaf for illegal war: Paris, Berlin, Moscow sanction US occupation of Iraq, The UN vote on Iraq: the political issues.
Hours later, our President issued Executive Order 13303: Protecting the Development Fund for Iraq and Certain Other Property in Which Iraq Has an Interest (Executive Order 13303 of May 22, 2003). It makes the US the administrator of the Iraqi Development Fund and future oil sales that will feed it. Executive Order 13303 grants total legal immunity to US corporations that touch Iraqi oil, and unilaterally declares that Iraqi oil is the unassailable province of US corporations.
On Aug-28-2003, our President issued Executive Order 13315: Blocking Property of the Former Iraqi Regime, Its Senior Officials and Their Family Members, and Taking Certain Other Actions (Executive Order 13315 of August 28, 2003). It makes sure that all additional government and Baath official property will be transferred into the Fund. Executive Order 13315 expands upon Executive Order 13303 and places all of Iraq's state assets under total control of the US.

All the above looting is the primary reason for the war on Iraq. The incentive began in 1972, and the planning began in 1992: SUMMARY.
The White House, Pentagon, and their corporate clients prefer a "stable totalitarian regime" in Iraq -- "The CIA believes that democracy would bring in anti-US powers, something which is not desired by Washington" -- not a real democracy. REFERENCES.
US "handover of power to Iraq," "sovereignty for Iraq," and "democracy in Iraq" are shams meant to deceive America. REFERENCES.
All the above weak nations -- and the millions of maimed, poisoned, and slaughtered civilians -- posed no threat or danger whatsoever to America.
The above history and current events should be taught in our public schools, broadcasted in our media, and entered into our history books, so that the slaughter and plundering can be stopped and never happen again.
Regarding all the post-9/11 killing of civilians by our commander-in-chief and our troops. Although the 9/11 hijackers and their funding came from Saudi Arabia, America killed more than 100,000 civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq combined: Afghanistan civilian deaths, Iraq's collateral damage. How's that for being dumb and heartless.
Exactly like cold-blooded sociopathic killers, our leaders -- government, military, corporate, religious, media -- are utterly remorseless. See why they do nothing about ending world hunger, providing fresh water for the world, ending AIDS, all of which would cost just a tiny fraction of their killing and destroying and looting sprees?
Worse yet our leaders taught many Americans to be as remorseless, to approve the above atrocities, and to proudly bathe those crimes against humanity with Flag-waving, United-We-Stand American Pride. All Americans who do so are accessories to crimes against humanity and have the blood of innocents on their hands.
When they wave the Flag for war on Iraq, they say, "I proudly support armed robbery of weak nations, and mass murder of civilians, by our President and by our troops!" and thus they transform our Flag into a vulgar symbol of horrific inhumanity.
Here in America, do we let mass killers and armed robbers and their accessories get away with it? Out there in the world, should other nations and their citizens let guilty Americans get away with it -- those who planned, led, committed, assisted, and proudly supported maiming and killing of innocent millions and plundering of their countries?
Have you noticed how our President throws a tantrum whenever the new International War Crimes Court is mentioned? He knows he has committed extremely serious wrongs that violate international law and basic human morality (America's violations of international law), but he doesn't want to be held responsible or punished for it. He doesn't want to be personally or socially responsible for his actions. Which means he is not a mature adult.
Stopping gross inhumanity by Americans at the top begins by nurturing core wisdom and humanity into our American young at the family level and school level at the bottom.
